Tiny Toes Newborn Session Information
At home sessions for the casual family
A special 1 minute message from Naomi
Step One: Scheduling your session
In order to reserve a date, you will:
a) pick a date
b) sign some paperwork
c) pay a non-refundable session fee of $250.
The session fee pays for all the work I do getting you ready for your session, my time and talent the day of your session and all the professional editing and delivery of your final images.
Scheduling your session can easily be done by clicking the link below.
If you need a date that is not specified, be sure to ask! I try to be as flexible as I can.
Once I get your date on the calendar, I will be in touch with you when I return before finalizing your paperwork and session fee.
A few things to consider
Tiny Toes sessions are almost always held at around 9am since mornings are when babies are happiest and the sun generally hits houses nicely. If you live in a home where the natural light does not come into your house until later, we may decide to change the time.
Our daughter wasn’t in a great mood that day, but Naomi was calm and worked with us to capture amazing candid shots.
A Few FAQs
How old should the baby be?
Typically, newborn sessions are held from 0-6 weeks of life to get those sleepy baby shots and tiny fingernails. Macro photography is available for infants 0-4 weeks. However, if you'd prefer your baby more alert, we can photograph later (up to 3 months) once they start smiling. Just realize that they may also be more fussy at that stage.
What if we need to reschedule?
Newborns are not always on our timetable, so if you have a situation where you would like your session within the first week of their life but your baby has decided to come super early or very late, I will definitely accommodate that to the best of my ability.
Please know, however, that reserving a date for you means that I am turning down other clients for that time slot, so I only ask that you be respectful of my time and not take advantage of this rescheduling policy unless needed.
Of course, if there is some sickness or other event out of your control, I completely understand and we will re-schedule for a time within 14 days of your original date.
What if our home is dark or untidy?
Listen, I'm a mom. I don't come expecting your home to be perfect, especially when you have a newborn.
However, if your home does not get a lot of natural light, we can brainstorm other places to have your session. We could use a friend or relative's home or even photograph outside if the weather is agreeable.
What if I don't like my photos?
Then you would be the first! In that
unlikely event, I will offer you a full re-shoot at no extra cost. I stand by my work and I want you to be overjoyed with your images and products for your home, start to finish.
What exactly is print credit?
Print credit acts just like a gift card in your gallery shop. You can use the credit toward any of the items that I offer as part of your gallery's online store.
Step Two: The session itself
Once we've decided on a time and date and officially put your session on the books, I'll send you a getting ready guide that will walk you through everything from choosing outfits to strategies for getting kids to cooperate.
That guide has been created and refined over years of experience, so it typically answers 90% of the questions that come up, but I'm always happy to set up a time to chat if you want additional help.
A few days before our session is scheduled, I'll reach out to confirm our time and location... at that point, if it looks like it's going to be a dark and rainy day or someone seems to be coming down with the flu, we can talk about our rescheduling options. Otherwise, that's the perfect time to ask any last minute questions or let me know if you've come up with a fun idea we haven't discussed.
Please block off 2 hours for newborn sessions. They take time! Newborns need to nurse, poop, pee, and complain about things. They've got it tough so we just work around whatever they need.
Finally, take a breath and relax... I promise to give the grown-ups (and kids) breaks throughout the session as needed, and to make it as painless as possible for everyone involved. If it would ease tensions to treat yourself to a favorite beverage before I arrive, well then I say go for it!
Step Three: The fun part
Within just a couple of weeks of your session, you'll receive an email from me letting you know that your photos are ready to view (usually 35-70).
Because I want the moment of seeing your photos for the first time to be really special for you, I put all of those photos into a beautiful slideshow that you can watch whenever your family is ready.
Your slideshow will be available for a full 48 hours so you can watch it as many times as you like and share it with friends and family.
Once you've had a chance to see your slideshow and enjoy your moment, you'll have the opportunity to choose which collection you want to purchase.
After that, you'll have a full month to select the specific digital files and print items you want to use to fill that collection... zero pressure!

Collections may be purchased after every session.
Print credit from these sessions may be combined to purchase a keepsake album containing a variety of images from throughout the year.
If you would like to invest in a One Year Milestone bundle, please go ahead and choose your first date from the calendar, but then email me letting me know your choice:
Our two-and-a-half year old wanted nothing to do with pictures, so [Naomi] patiently waited for moments to snap the perfect photos. The finished photos... WOW! I couldn't love them more.... they are amazing!!!!!! THANK YOU <3
Why the Print Credit?
Because I'm committed to getting every one of my families to the finish line.
Let's face it: Receiving only digital images means that you will have one more thing on your to-do list when this photo session is over. What's more, images on your hard drive hardly EVER see the light of day and stand a high likelihood of being accidentally deleted at some point.
What I'm saying is that all that time and money invested deserve a better return than photos gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere.
You'll never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall or flipping through the pages of an album, so I include a substantial print credit with every collection.
